36 Weeks Down 4 Weeks To Go!!

36 weeks today! While I am thrilled to have made it this far I am also ready to hold my baby in my arms instead of in my tummy. My energy is gone, not to mention comfort! In the end I know it will all be worth it. I have a picture this week! Please excuse the angle, etc.... Piggy is offshore AGAIN (will he EVER start staying on land) so I had to take one myself.

Look what WE grew!!

We got our first strawberry of the season!

There are a few more coming out but none are ready to be picked yet.

The kids got the honor of not only picking it, but eating it as well. *of course we washed it first!*

The beans and corn that Piggy planted in the back are starting to sprout as well. I wonder how well they will do?

Menu Plan Monday 3/30 ~ 4/3

Monday ~ Homemade Hamburgers

Tuesday ~ Crock Pot Roast

Wednesday ~ leftovers

Thursday ~ Something with Chicken, I haven't decided yet!

Friday ~ Shrimp & Butter Sauce

Saturday ~ whatever Piggy comes up with

Sunday ~ Clean out the fridge day

Baking Day ~ Again!!!

1. French Toast - 2 loaves

2. Banana Oatmeal Muffins (Doubled)

6. Precook rice for fried rice - 3 cups * 3

Time Permitting:

1. pancakes

2. waffles

I got the breakfast hotpockets done! I must have made them bigger than intended because the recipe said it would yield 30-36...... I got 14! The bread part is rather thick. Oh well, at least I know for next time! I had intentions of making the pancakes as well but I ran out of flour.

I'm not sure when the lasagna will get done. The recipe that I am using says that you can use either a 9x13 pan or 2 - 8in pans. I planned on using the 8 inch pans since 9x13 is rather large for our family. Well, the recipe also says not to cook the noodles. They are too big for the pan! Now I'm stuck. I guess I'll make a 9x13 pan and once I cook it we will have leftovers for another night.

As if I don't have enough to take care of....

Piggy decides we need these:

Of course he says "they're for the kids". Yeah, sure they are cute now but what the heck is he going to do with them when they get bigger. I'm not sure he thought that far ahead. He says he will eat them. Uhm..... I'm talking about the stage when they outgrow the box they are in but are not yet big enough to do anything with?! We aren't a big egg eating family so that route probably won't happen. I refuse to have them run lose in my yard. He says he'll put them in the back fence. I remind him that they can fly (or at least get enough air to make it over the fence!). I suppose they can stay until they get bigger. Then Piggy will be calling the friend that convinced him they were a good idea. He will be coming get them!!!!

35 Weeks Pregnant!!

Wow I can't believe it has been 35 weeks already! This pregnancy seems to have flown by *knock on wood*. I guess it's because I have two little ones at home to keep me busy and keep my mind off of it. I got my 'second wind' this weekend. I have more energy now than I've had in a while. While it's here I'm going to try and get a few last minute things finished up.

I am starting to feel less nervous about this pregnancy as well. With KK I had preterm labor at 31 weeks. Every time I get a little pain here or ache there I start worrying that it is the beginning of labor. Now that I am at 35 weeks I am a little more relaxed since things are going well.

Piggy is offshore, hopefully he will be staying on land once he makes it back. I'm so nervous I will go into labor when he's gone. When he comes home I will have him take a belly pic for all to see! I can't wait until I can post pics of my little one!

Baking Day ~ End of the Day Update

1. French Toast - 2 loaves

6. Precook rice for fried rice - 3 cups * 3

Time Permitting:

1. pancakes

2. waffles

So at the end of the day I didn't accomplish everything I had hoped. I'll blame it on Piggy, he decided today was the day to plant the garden and spring clean the backyard. We spent most of the afternoon outside pressure washing toys and planting seeds (snap peas and corn to be exact). I have a dr's appointment tomorrow morning. I am hoping to get the lasagna done when I get home. Tuesday I hope to get the breakfast hot pockets done. The pancakes can wait until this weekend.

Am I allowed to say....

I HATE THE TIME CHANGE!!!

Maybe it's taking us longer than usual to adjust but things still aren't running smoothly here. The kids aren't going to bed until after 9 and that makes for rough mornings. In our house rough mornings lead to rough days. It's a never ending cycle. The first day of the change my daughter accused me of lying to her because it wasn't morning when we went outside to wait for the bus.

It IS nice to be able to play outside in the evenings but I'm starting to wonder if the chaos is worth it?

Works For Me Wednesday

When my daughter finally got enough hair to actually do SOMETHING with I was ecstatic. I went out and bought bows, ponytails holders and of course a cute bow holder. The bows and bow holder worked out quite well. All those ponytail holders on the other hand....... They were are MESS. At first I tried keeping them in a ziploc, that didn't work for us. One day I came across a mini-tackle box in the store. All of a sudden I thought, HEY THIS WILL WORK! Here's what I did:

The compartments are adjustable and it works perfectly for us. For more Works For Me Wednesday ideas visit We Are THAT Family!

Financial Check up

Time for a financial check-up!

1.) Re-build emergency fund. I say re-build because we had a small amount of savings but our refrigerator decided to go out on us today and we had to buy a new one. What a way to start off the new year! Not doing so great here. Something always seems to come up, new tires for Piggy's truck, new part for the stove, etc... We're trying!

2.) Have all debt except student loans paid off by December 2009. We're getting there, so far we have paid off roughly 72% of the debt!!

Menu Plan Monday 3/09 ~ 3/13

Piggy is working some weird hours the beginning of this week so meals will be simple since I get cankles if I stand for more than 10 minutes!

Monday ~ hot dogs & chili

Tuesday ~ homemade pizza

Wednesday ~ leftovers

Thursday ~ spaghetti (I cooked this a couple of weeks ago and put it in the freezer)

Friday ~ pan fried catfish and shrimp

I am planning a baking day for early April. This will help me to stock my freezer with meals and snacks for once baby is born. Depending on what the doctor says tomorrow this may get pushed up. I will post my planned menu once I have everything figured out.
